IMP Jewellery

Once you have made a jewellery purchase, the secret to keeping your new piece looking the best is to keep it clean. So many people don’t think about this important fact.

Avoid ultrasonic leaning and jet sprays as this may loosen stones in settings or damage stones.

Diamonds - Your diamond jewellery should be cleaned a couple of times a week to keep it looking good. It’s as simple as a cup of warm soapy water and a toothbrush to get in under the settings where the dirt accumulates. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. This only takes a few minutes at most.

Coloured Stones - Like diamonds, coloured stones can be cleaned with warm soapy water. However care must be taken with emeralds as certain cleaners may react with the treatments may emeralds undergo when facetted.

Larger pale stones like aquamarine need regular cleaning as any dirt on the stone is very noticeable.
