Hearts are everywhere this season. Chanel, Chloe and Moschino all showcased The Heart. From bold gold heart shaped padlocks on bracelets and necklaces reminiscent of the 1980's to delicate diamond set designs, the heart is making a statement in fashion circle for this season. Although they never go out of fashion.
Heart shapes have been a symbol of love for centuries, with first recorded images of hearts as a token of love recorded in the Middle Ages. The 15th and 16th centuries saw this token of love flourish, which continues to this today. The Victorian's were a huge lover of symbolisms in jewels and the heart motif set with diamonds represented the idea of 'your love forever' or 'yours' forever' as diamonds were seen as indestructible.
